The classic Tabata interval: 20 seconds all-out, 10 seconds rest, on a loop. Eight rounds is four brutal minutes — pick any exercise (squats, burpees, mountain climbers) and go as hard as you can each work step.
How to use it
- Choose one exercise and get into position.
- Hit Start and give maximum effort for the 20-second “Work” step.
- Rest completely for the 10-second “Rest” step — you’ll need it.
- Count off eight rounds (four minutes), then stop.
Make it yours
The 20/10 split is the standard, but you can tap either step to adjust it. For a longer finisher, keep looping past eight rounds. Prefer an automatic stop? Turn Loop off and add eight work/rest pairs in the sequence editor so it ends on its own.
FAQ
What is Tabata?
Tabata is a high-intensity interval protocol: 20 seconds of maximum effort followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated for 8 rounds — four minutes total. This timer runs all eight numbered 20/10 rounds and chimes at every switch, then stops on its own at the end.
Do I have to count the rounds?
No — this preset is the full eight rounds, so it ends automatically after four minutes. Each work and rest step is numbered (Work 1 … Work 8) so you always know where you are. Want a longer session? Turn Loop on in the options, or add more rounds with the quick-timer chips.
